All data are point areas.
Municipal and district areas do not include lake areas larger than 5 km2. Therefore, the sum of the municipal or district areas of a canton does not add up to the cantonal area. The exact total area of the cantons and large regions can be found in the corresponding cubes. Data quality, sampling error:
Small area values are not statistically reliable. They are subject to a large sampling error. Here you can read, among other things, that an area of 10 ha shows a sampling error of +/- 6.2 ha! For an area of 100 ha, the sampling error is still +/- 20 ha.
Small values are nevertheless given in this table so that communes can be grouped together and the most differentiated regional analyses possible can be made with relevant values. Categories:
