All civilian road vehicles registered for the first time in Switzerland by owners domiciled in Switzerland are taken into account. Most of these are new vehicles, but a few are used, imported vehicles. The data displayed correspond to the vehicles in the Vehicle Register on the 3 January of the following year.

Canton

The canton is defined by the owner's address and not by the registration plate.
